This project contributes to the stated objectives of the RFCS programme as an accompanying measure for:

  • Disseminating and promoting the use of knowledge on modelling in continuous casting gained from fundamental research activities worldwide and from Steel Research Programme projects in terms of applied research. This knowledge has a direct and immediate industrial application, as demonstrated by the state of the art.

  • Improving the safety and environmental quality of the workplace, by providing training to the workers in the use of advanced and modern work tools based on models (e.g., digital twins), leading to reduced exposure to unsafe environments.
